We travel to Western Samoa on the 17 Feb 2016 to evaluate their present setup and to commission a Transmitter in Apia. Please pray for safe travels for our team and the United Christian Broadcasting (UCB) as we try to help out in Western Samoa.

***** Update ***** (01 Mar 2016)

Phase 1 of the Samoa Project has now been completed. 95.1FM from Apia is re-broadcasted from Mt Vaei on 103.1FM and now covers most of Upolu and well over 70% of Savai'i which previously had no coverage at all. Because we had no STL equipment (studio transmission link) we had to modify our first plans of two stations, one being more traditional Christian music and the other a Youth station and stick with the one station to fulfill our primary objective of coverage for Savai'i. We have since been able to procure the STL equipment thanks in large part to a donation of the equipment from Rhema Media. In The Gap Ministries was fortunate enough in getting this equipment to go back again for Phase 2 of the project and get a Youth station up and running, the first of its kind in Samoa. ***** Update ***** (01 August 2017)

After chasing a Transmitter around the world for five weeks, the airlines finally found the missing Transmitter and got it to us for repairs. It was considerably damaged on the outside from rough handling and several components on the inside had come adrift as well.

However, after a lot of work and expense we have the Transmitter repaired and going properly once again.

This transmitter will be put into service on Savai'i Island so that those on the other side of the mountain range facing Upolo will also be able to enjoy good Christian Radio,

***** Update ***** (10 Aug 2017)

Very successful trip to Savai'i Island to research a suitable place for rebroadcasting 103.1FM.

A suitable place has been identified, now all the paper work has to be completed and negotiations to use the land. Hopefully some time early 2018 will see Phase 2 completed.

Projects Phase 2:

Phase 2 includes 100% coverage of Savai'i Island. In August 2017 In The Gap Ministries along with Laufou Radio researched the Island for a suitable site to rebroadcast the signal from Upolu Island transmitting on 103.1FM. Our trip was very successful proving that the transmissions from Upolu Island covered at least 75% of the Island of Savai'i. The last 25% can be covered by an additional Transmitter at the far northern end of Savai'i. This work will be done as soon as finances permit.
