Isaac Fingu - Station Manager, LaifFM
Hello my name is Isaac and I come from a small village close to Wewak in Papua New Guinea.
Hello to Papa Roly you are like a father to us to me and Vitus and Jonathan. Thank you for all of your encouragement to me and to us.
We like it when you come to Papua New Guinea to train us in technical stuff and we hope that you can come and see us again very soon.
About my testimony and how I came to the Christ as my saviour I will tell you now.
As a Sunday school kid I went to church at my small village. My parents were devoted Christians in AOG so they asked me to go to Sunday school every Sunday. That is way back in the 1980s and I enjoy the time very much.
All the time and through my youth I remain faithful to go to church and up until now and now I am a Pastor at my village.
I've not been to a school to a Theology school no just I am a pastor because I've been there for a long time and I know the Bible from teaching from my Church.
How I became to work at the radio station LaifFM that was back in 2010 and I hear they needed some help so I came from my village to Wewak to help them at the radio station.
But sometime way back in 2002 I was working in Wewak in one day I met Vitus in town outside the bookshop and I asked him to see if I cannot come and work at the radio station or do you have to be a missionary to work at the radio station.
So I went away and I thought about it there for a long time and in the meantime I did some administration work for Rhema school of ministry at Wewak. This was run by some people from Australia teaching this job for three months I went to the ministry school every night for three months. We had to listen to the school was held and Wewak which is a long way from my village so I remembered Vitus up at the radio station and asked if I could stay with him so that I did not have travel back to my village everyday.

After three months over my course finish and then I had to go back to my village buy Vitus came and asked me if I could stay with him and help them at the radio station. This time Vitus was the only person at the radio station so he said he wanted me to give them back help.
But I want I was a pastor at my village so I just write a letter to the leaders to my village and asked they would release me to come to the radio station.
November 2010 I was at the radio station LaifFM and I started to work with Vitus together.
2011 Roly and Dennis came to Papua New Guinea to visit us and a teach us a lot about the radio station and fixed transmitter. Papa Roly has visited us many times and help us learn and heteachers technical matters so we can put on transmitters into service.
Now we have radio transmitters atWewak and Maprik also now in in Lumi and also Mount Hagen which we made by ourselfs.
We would like Roly to come back to give us a more technical training so we can put more radio stations in Papua New Guinea.
Just last years ago now I get married to my wife Karen and now we have a little girl who is 9 months old and her name is Gloria. I am very happy to have a good wife who understands me and understand why I have to travel withradio stations around this area.
For the grace in the help of God we can continue with the ministry and see many more people come to know Jesus Christ.
Thank you Roly and thank you for In The Gap Ministries for helping us over many years and we hope to see you again very very soon.
Blessings in Jesus name
Isaac
