INDRODUCTION
Hi Roly,
I’m very sorry for long delay due to my busyness for not writing to you by now. By the way, this is my site of the story. Before I proceed on, I would like to thank you for your tireless time and effort which you had invested into UCB PNG in terms of technical areas and impartation of your knowledge for the progress & advancement of Laif FM Wewak. As a citizen and beneficiary of what you did to me & my people in East Sepik Province and PNG as are whole, I salute you & congratulate you for job well done. Nothing I can give to appreciate you, but, just a word of thanks to you and your family.
MY TESTERMONIES
Before everything, it got started here. I went to primary school in my village in (Paliama) and did my 6th grade & left the school on 1986 without paper; because, I was not good enough on all subjects, I was a very slow learner. Sometimes my teacher locked me out of the classroom because; I can’t cooperate well with other students as well as my class teacher. That started build hatred & bitterness in my heart so I left my class before the end of the year and stayed home.
CHANGE OF LOCATION
My uncle took me to Lae early January 1989 and left me with my mother’s small brother, knowing that, he will find space for me in any primary school in the city. My uncle did everything he could, but, was unsuccessful. No schools in the city accepted me.
MY INVOLEMENT
That’s where I thought to myself, that’s the end of my life, so I got involved with the Gangs in the city. That’s where my life got messed up. I was 13 years old when I began to involve in criminal activities with the big boys from the compound where I lived. I was heavily involved in criminal activities in our second largest city in the country (Lae Morobe Province). I almost got killed by police, but my friend was shot and killed.
CHANGE OF LIFE
In September 19th 1992 Barry Smith from New Zealand came to PNG for crusade. He finished from Mt Hagen and came to Lae for 1 night crusade. That Tuesday Night God took me from my worse life & brought me to the light of Christ. I gave my life to Jesus on that night.
PARTICIPATE IN CHURCH ACTIVITIES
On 1995 I went to Popondetta Oro Province. I Stayed with the Assemblies of God Church Pastor in Popondetta and got involved with the youths in music ministry in the church
DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING SCHOOL (DTS).
On 1998 I went to Mt Hagen (Western Hilands Province) and did my Discipleship Training School (DTS) with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). That’s where I met Bill & Linda Chambers.
On 2000 I went to YWAM base in Lae as a base staff. On 2001 & 2002 I got involved with National Prayer Centre and move from one province to another, just to organize churches in the country to pray for Papua New Guinea. I went back to YWAM Base in Lae on 2003, & served as a base staff until July 2005 I left YWAM base in Lae and came back home.

NOW WITH UCB PNG
July 2006 I joint UCB PNG. It was not the job qualification that brought me in, but, it was the need of this place. The need is, the compound needs a cleaner to work around the yard. I don’t have any qualification on any job. I did everything to make the place looks clean & attractive in the eyes of the public.
There are five (5) staffs, two male & three female working at the radio station before I came. When I came in, the former staffs began to leave one by one. I didn’t know the cause of their problem, but later I’ve realized that, the staffs are all volunteer workers. Late 2007 Three female staffs left, two girls left for Hawaii to study media.
I joint two male staffs & we maintain the cleanliness & the security of the area. Early 2008 one of our male staff left. So Tony and I keep maintain the place.
Mid 2008 we did our first Fund raising drive supported by all churches in town for one week. We raised K37, 000 in one week. In those years, we don’t get support from the government. Most of our support come from our listeners. Tony left Laif FM early 2009 and so I look after the station by myself for some time.
Towards the End of 2009 my relationship with Thecla began and it continued until January 4th 2011 we had our marriage ceremony in the village.
On May 8th 2012 my wife (Thecla) gave birth to (Joshua Chambers Parry) He’s four years four Months old now. My total years spend with UCB PNG it’s about ten years three months.
What I want to say is, it’s all about God. I use to say, I’m a raw material came to Laif FM, but God made it possible for me to understand some things about Radio. Thanks be to God, all glory & honor belongs to God & God alone. amen.
Vitus Parry.
